Database backup is the salt making Handy Backup unique and exclusive. Being a complete enterprise backup solution, Handy Backup supports the following features:
- MSSQL backup
- MySQL backup
- Oracle backup
- DB2 backup
- MS Access backup
- Outlook backup
- MS Exchange backup
- Lotus Notes backup
- ODBC databases backup
Hot ODBC Database Backup
The program has a common Database Backup plug-in which allows backing up databases via ODBC protocol. It can be used to back up tables of MSSQL, MySQL, PosgreSQL, Foxpro, Interbase and other ODBC-compatible databases (see database backup restrictions). The program exploits hot backup technology, which allows you to back up local and remote databases without stopping them.
To use the plug-in, it is necessary to open ODBC connection to the desired database. Then, while creating a new backup task, select Database from a dropdown menu and specify the data you want to back up. To learn more, please refer to Database Backup in User Manual...
Note: Though MSSQL, Oracle and DB2 are ODBC-compatible, it is recommended to use their specific plug-ins, rather then Database Backup (which backs up only tables). Please see the information below.

MS SQL, Oracle, DB2 Database Server Backup
Besides a common Database Backup plug-in, Handy Backup has advanced plug-ins for backing up MS SQL, Oracle and DB2, which deliver more precise and accurate results: backups contain all triggers, indexes, views, control elements and other database-specific information.
