Backup Service
Backup services are services that are designed to let users back up files and folders to network storage systems (commonly, via the Internet), through the use of a client software.
In terms of files and folders, backing up is a process of creating copies of files (data replication) and copying them on a separate media, to be used in case the primary files are lost or corrupted.
Backups are essential part of any business environment, where even temporary inaccessibility of commercial data may result in large losses of incomes. For most critical information, backups should be made daily, and it is advised to keep two or three sets of copies. To be especially safe, backup sets should be kept in different locations, preferably in an online service. Backups can be encrypted and/or compressed, to reduce risks and costs.
