Data backup strategy
Data backup strategy is a strategy, applied to the backup process, regulating various parameters, like how much data is backed up at a time, how often backup is performed and which media is used. A data backup strategy usually aims at achieving both effectiveness and efficiency at the same time, in other words combining the best security with the least efforts and costs. Usually, employment of a data backup strategy flows into using one of the backup rotation schemes, like Grandfather-father-son and Tower of Hanoi.
