Folder Backup
Folder backup is a backup of an entire directory with all elements down the folder tree, i.e. subfolders and files. In most PC file systems, folders act as containers that enable users and applications to access HDD data in a logically structured form, e.g. where all system drivers are contained in a specific folder called 'drivers'.
In terms of data safety and backup, folders are of great use, as they allow referring to a dynamic set of data, rather than a set of specific files. Imagine that you scheduled a backup job that copies a folder backup to an external drive. Each time the job is run, the copying involves all objects inside the folder, i.e. the procedure is not limited to the original set of data.
