International Business Machines Corporation (IBM)
International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is a multinational computer technology and consulting corporation headquartered in Armonk, New York, USA. The company is one of the few information technology companies with a continuous history dating back to the 19th century. IBM manufactures and sells computer hardware (hard drives, CPUs), software, infrastructure services, hosting services and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology.
On December 31, 2002 IBM and Hitachi completed a transaction pursuant to which IBM combined its hard disk drive operations with Hitachi's, forming a new company called Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. This transaction did not include IBM's storage systems business, and IBM continues to offer a comprehensive selection of IBM Total Storage solutions and products.
