Open Mobile Alliance
OMA is an open forum devoted to mobile applications, specifications and suchlike. OMA was founded in 2002 as an attempt to consolidate numerous mobile forums. Each forum dealt with specific issues such as browsing and device provisioning protocols, instant messaging and presence, data synchronization etc., and had its own standards and specifications. OMA was created to eliminate confusions and complexities in discussion and decision taking, as well as a lot of duplications and overlaps in specifications, release dates, schedules and so on.
