Restore Data
To restore data means to bring it back to a state it had at some past point of time. Data restoration is performed after corruption or loss of important information.
In terms of data backup, the ability to restore data is the most important requirement, because without it backups become useless. In individual cases, restoration can be performed to a different place than the original one, which allows using this procedure for data multiplicating and cloning purposes.
Since files, before being sent to their storage location, are usually processed through a number of modifications, such as compression, splitting in parts and other, the procedure or backup restoration may become a complicated task. For example, incremental backups require you to firstly collect all parts of data, in order to reconstruct it correctly.
In most situations, data restoration can run automatically, triggered by certain event, or even on a schedule. However, there are cases when a user must control the procedure. These include restoration of an encrypted backup, which requires you to enter a password, or restoring data from multiple DVD discs, which requires you to change them.
To make backup and recovery procedures more convenient and effective, we recommend you to try out our software, Handy Backup.
