SSH
SSH is both a computer program and an associated network protocol, developed for logging into and executing commands on a network computer and moving files from one computer to another. SSH developers aimed to replace the earlier protocols, and the resultant protocol provides secure encrypted communications between two not trusted hosts over an insecure network.
Today, there is an updated version of the protocol, SSH-2.
