SSH-2 is protocol, an updated variant of SSH. It has better security through introducing the Diffie-Hellman key exchange and strong integrity checking via MACs. One of the features is the ability to handle any number of shell sessions over a single SSH connection. As SSH, it is used to secure file transfer connections.
