Volume
Volume is a storage unit. A volume can either be a physical storage unit or a logical storage unit. Physical storage units include hard drives, floppy disks, and disk cartridges, CD-ROMs, and reels of tapes. A logical storage unit can be part of one physical drive or can span several drives.
