Handy Backup 6.1

Is it possible to backup an open file?

If Handy Backup can gain a read access to an open file, it is possible to back it up. If you are planning to back up open files, make sure that the "Open files exclusively" option in the Task Properties/Advanced/File-specific settings is unchecked. Otherwise, the program will try to open the file for a full access and, since it is impossible, it will be skipped. Handy Backup can't back up files that are not accessible for reading (particularly, system files like pagefile.sys, files opened without sharing permission, loaded modules (EXEs and DLLs), etc.).
