Handy Backup 6.9.1: Faster, Smarter and Easier to Use

With Christmas behind and new year 2011 just round the corner, we are delighted to announce the release of a new version of Handy Backup!

Handy Backup 6.9.1 features many enhancements designed to make user experience more intuitive and enjoyable!

Users of Windows 7 can immediately notice the changes in the way Handy Backup is displayed in tasks. The new 6.9.1. version makes use of the advanced Windows 7 taskbar which now shows progress of currently running tasks. Now you are not required to open the main program's window to how your backups are running!
An option to open Handy Backup Disaster Recovery web help when creating a recovery drive is now disabled by default.
Users of our Online Backup service now receive a fast-access link leading to their Online cabinet in the task log after any execution of the task. Earlier, the link appeared only if the task finished with an error.

We've made many efforts to optimize the Image Backup plug-in: it became much faster and works more correctly under Windows 7. We highly recommend all users of earlier versions of Handy Backup to upgrade to version 6.9.1
The Database Backup plug-in now became more stable and gives out less errors when backing up SQL databases.
Several improvements were made to network transferring engine: network backup tasks now run much faster.
As always, there are many minor user interface enhancements and fixes.

To upgrade to the new version simply uninstall the old one and install the new one - and you'll get all the new features right away!

Handy Backup 6.9 Featuring Disaster Recovery Module

We are glad to announce Handy Backup 6.9 featuring integration with Handy Backup Disaster Recovery and many other important improvements!

The program's toolbar has acquired a new button that launches installation of Handy Backup Disaster Recovery:

To create a recovery drive, click the icon on the toolbar, and then follow the instructions of the Wizard.

Installed on a USB or Flash drive, Handy Backup Disaster Recovery allows you to back up and restore your computer independently of its main operating system.

Handy Backup Installation Package (handybackup_setup.msi) now automatically detects your language and selects it as a localization language in Handy Backup. The installer is currently available in English, Russian and French, and we are planning to add more languages in the near future.
There is a new Leave feedback about Handy Backup option under the Help menu. If you have any suggestions, comments or complaints, we welcome you to use it: any feedback will be carefully reviewed by our support, marketing and development teams.

We've released an update to Handy Backup Disaster Recovery (standalone application) and made it easier to install and faster to use.
Some users have reported a problem when burning encrypted backups to DVD. After investigation, we've found that under some systems encryption module conflicted with DVD burning engine. Now this has been successfully fixed.
As always, there are a lot of other minor enhancements, improvements and user interface fixes.

We have just released version 6.8.2 of our backup application, Handy Backup. Here is a short list of the new features:

Logging engine has been improved. Now logs may include hyperlinks causing various events, such as opening a web page in a browser.
The new logging engine allowed us to make management of Online Backup accounts easier. Now if backing up to an Online Backup account fails, the log will display a link leading the user to a web page containing information about further options.

More changes in Handy Backup 6.8.2:

We have noticeably improved Online Backup account management: extension, upgrades, and data management became faster and easier.
We've made the program's response to expiration of Online Backup accounts more clear and understandable: now it is easier to learn how to migrate from machine-generated trial accounts to regular ones, how and when you should register, etc.
As always, there are several minor updates and fixes to the program's performance, user interface, etc.

Other updates in Handy Backup 6.8.1:

Several users reported an issue with not being able to create PC synchronization tasks after running backup tasks with the new Online Backup option. Under some system configurations the program seemed to behave incorrectly, now the problem has been fixed.
We've made minor improvements to the user interface, to give Handy Backup a better look and feel.

E-mail notifications can now be sent securely with the use of SSL communications protocol.
We've added more options to task scheduler: now you can plan your backups more flexibly.
User interface in non-English versions has been updated: this includes a new installation package in French, translations of differential backup-related text fields (introduced in version 6.5, they were available in English only), and other.
As always, there are many other updates and minor enhancements to graphical interface and general performance of the program.
