Novosoft Announces Closer Integration with Windows OS in the Upcoming Handy Backup 6.7
Novosoft, an international software development company, today announced the new features and official release date for the new version of their backup software Handy Backup.
Alliance, Ohio, June 10, 2010 Novosoft, one of the leading providers of backup solutions for Windows Servers and individual PCs, today announced their plan to release a new 6.7 version of Handy Backup, featuring integration with Windows OS. The release is scheduled for June 15, 2010.
"We are excited to introduce new features and further improve experience of Handy Backup users," said Alexander Prichalov, head of Development Department of Novosoft. "The upcoming 6.7 version will allow adding Backup and Restore options to Windows Explorer, through registering them in Windows Shell Extension. This brings a new level of flexibility to back-up management, and we believe that all users of Handy Backup will enjoy it!"
Windows Shell Extension is a technology that allows extending Windows environment with new functionality, such as "drag-and-dropping" data from folders to a program, displaying program's commands in the context menu, and other.
"At present, integration with Explorer works with files and folders only," added Mr. Prichalov. "In the next versions we are planning to integrate a FUSE-like technology, to let users see their e-mails, databases and other data as Windows folders. This will let them perform complete PC backup through a context menu, or by common drag-and-drop operations."
The release of version 6.7 is planned for June 15, 2010, and all existing customers will be able to upgrade to a new version free of charge.
