On December 31, 2002 IBM and Hitachi completed a transaction pursuant to which IBM combined its hard disk drive operations with Hitachi’s, forming a new company called Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. This transaction did not include IBM’s storage systems business, and IBM continues to offer a comprehensive selection of IBM Total Storage solutions and products.
