The utility now features enhanced image backup functionality with extra protection against backup management failures (system and human mistakes in Linux and Windows) and advanced backup notification system. The disaster recovery update brings the protection from system and human mistakes in the backing up process: even if the software lose connection with the server while downloading a program component, the new version of Handy Backup will correctly go on as soon as there is the connection.

This functionality adds value to the recently presented system backup feature, which helped to store system files and registry and recover after a crash with no actual hard drive data gone. Also, the efficiency of image backup in the software has been recently boosted with the implementation of several novel technologies (Linux Knoppix, FUSE, and others).

The newly established data protection manager options include smart notification system informing users on the status of data management tasks in the software interface or via email backup notifications. The last ones arrive properly even if the secure SSL is the one used.

Traditionally, the Handy Backup functionality for image backup can be obtained either as a part of Home Professional or Business editions, or independently of the core app, as a standalone utility called Disaster Recovery.
