Mozilla Thunderbird Backup
Note: XML-based plug-ins are temporarily unavailable in the latest version, Handy Backup 7.0.13 (released on December 15, 2011). We are planning to add this feature in several weeks - and if you need it right now, we recommend that you use version 6.9.7 instead.
Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, cross-platform e-mail client software developed by Mozilla Foundation. Thunderbird can be used not only as an e-mail client but also as an address book and news reader. Handy Backup allows you to back up Thunderbird e-mail messages, accounts, settings and address book. Thunderbird backup with this utility takes just a couple of seconds, literally.

To back up Thunderbird, follow these steps:
- Make sure that you have downloaded and installed Thunderbird backup plug-in (for instructions, use the links at the bottom of the page).
- In software interface, launch the New Task Wizard.
- Select Backup Task, and then click Next.
- Click Add to open the shortcut menu. The list of available for backup items will appear.
- Click Mozilla Thunderbird. All Thunderbird data will be automatically located and displayed in the tree form.
- Expand the tree and check the boxes near Thunderbird components that you want to back up. To back up all data, check the root box.
- When finished, click Next.
The subsequent steps are identical to usual backup task creation. For more details, refer to Backing up data in the User Manual.
