Performing USB Backup
Handy Backup supports two options regarding backing up USB data:
- Backing up files on USB drive. If your USB device is seen in Windows Explorer, you can use Handy Backup to include its files in backup or synchronization tasks. The software has a very comprehensible Task Wizard which will guide you through all steps and help you create effective USB backup task.
- USB disk image. Often referred to as &@8220drive snapshot”, image-based backup is a procedure of copying HDD data on sector level, rather than through file system queries. This is the only option if your USB drive contains data that can&@8217t be accessed on file level.
Backing up to USB drives
As USB devices are very transportable and reliable, they appear to be very convenient media to store backups on. In case of accidental corruption or loss of data, connecting an HDD via USB port and restoring backup from it takes very short time. Moreover, there are hardware solutions that allow pressing a button and copying backup to USB. The main disadvantage of these solutions is that they are not very flexible in configuration, and still require some action to initiate the backup while Handy Backup operates absolutely automatically.
