Acronis Backup & Recovery Uninstallation

  1. Download the Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Cleanup Utility and extract it;
  2. Open Start -> Run, type cmd, and navigate to the folder where you saved the Acronis cleanup utility;
  3. Execute the utility using one of the following commands:
    • To run the utility with default parameters:
      abr_cleanup.exe --clean
      This command will prompt you to confirm the removal of the product and its components. It will also ask you to reboot the machine if necessary.
    • To run the utility without user interaction:
      abr_cleanup.exe --clean --quiet
      This command will silently remove the product and its components without prompts and will reboot the machine if necessary.
    • To run the utility while keeping Acronis Secure Zone on the system:
      abr_cleanup.exe --clean --keep-asz
    • To run the utility while keeping Acronis SnapAPI Drivers on the system:
      abr_cleanup.exe --clean --keep-snapapi
  4. After executing the command with the required parameters, the utility will remove all detected components of the product from the machine.

(!) After using the Cleanup Utility, it is strongly recommended not to reboot the machine immediately. Instead, go to Start -> Run -> regedit, and check that there are no snapman*, tdrpman*, fltsrv, timounter entries in the following registry keys:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} -> UpperFilters and LowerFilters
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} -> UpperFilters and LowerFilters

If any of these entries are present, please remove them. You may then reboot the machine.
