Fast Software Error Fixing via Providing a Dump File

Sometimes developers joke they are really happy with every mistake they find, cause this means the number of potential and much more dangerous ones reduces greatly. Perfectly stable and 100% reliable solutions simply don’t exist. But there is quite a number of backup software which is not perfect, but actually does the job!

What Is a Dump File, Really?

Dump file is a widely recognised error-reporting service. Handy Backup utilizes it fully and with great success. Sparing the details, one can interpret the dump file as a sort of error report.

Very soon these files would send themselves automatically, but as for now, we do strongly recommend you to send your dump files with every query to our Support. This stuff works fine for both you and us, dealing with Windows backup and Linux backup dump files!

Accessing Crash Dump File Location and Further Actions

If you’ve noticed, Handy Backup had stopped unexpectedly with the reason being unclear, do the following to fix the situation:

  1. Create the directory at any place you like (for instance, C:\User\My Documents\HB_Report). Now you are going to place dump files into it.
  2. Go to C:\Windows\Temp\hb_crashdumps. Here you can view your dump files. Select everything in this directory.
  3. Copy-Paste the selection into HB_Report.
  4. Go to C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\hb_crashdumps.
  5. Repeat the copy-paste thing into HB_Report.
  6. Compress the directory HB_Report with any solution (for instance, WinZip).
  7. Send the archive HB_Report to the Novosoft Support Service.

Judging from the data you have provided with your dump files our support engineers will make everything possible (or maybe, even impossible) to solve your situation and write back as soon as they can.

After sending the archives you can get rid of dump files, you copied from C:\Windows\Temp\hb_crashdumps and C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\hb_crashdumps , due to them being just temporary error overviews.

We hope you never have to use those instructions! Good luck!
