March 15, 2006: Version 5.2: Registered via E-mail
We are happy to announce the release of Handy Backup 5.2 with two nice improvements:
- The new version of our backup program can be registered online, by sending registration information to our support team and receiving a special file in return. This enables users that have no Internet access register Handy Backup and take advantage of all features and support.
- We′ve improved data transferring and indexing engines: now they are faster and require less system resources, which is great for backing up servers.

July 24, 2006: Version 5.4: Spanish Localization and New Languages are Coming!
We have just released a version 5.4 featuring multilingual user interface. We believe that this will bring the experience of non-English uses of our backup solution to a new level!

In the new version, Handy Backup users can select between two languages, English and Spanish. In the future, the number of languages provided by default will be increased - now any text string in the program is translatable and customizable as easily as never before!
We encourage users to create their own language interfaces, send them to us, and receive free license in return! The new language configuration system relies on XML files that describe all the texts displayed in the program. These files are easy to modify, so computer users of any levels can make translations of Handy Backup′s interface, using Notepad or any other text editor.
August 30, 2006: Version 5.4.5: Supports Online Storages as Destination for Backup
Handy Backup 5.4.5 is now integrated with our Online Backup Service: just specify your account name and password, and your data will be backed up remotely to our storage system, not requiring any additional drives, or other backup storage media.

- The new 5.4.5 version features integration with our offsite backup service: now you can just enter your login and password at Novosoft Remote Backup Service, and your data will be copied to a remote backup storage, not requiring you to have additional HDDs or DVDs to store backups.
An account at Novosoft Remote Backup Service can be registered by any Handy Backup user, and allows saving backup copies to an online storage space. All users can take advantage of a trial account: it is delivered free of charge to everybody who downloaded Handy Backup software.
Unregistered users are provided with 100Mb of storage space that can be used for 10 days for free during. Those users who have purchased the program, can take advantage of 30 day-long trial period. To register a trial account, you only need to click Get Sample Account on the third step of New Task Wizard, when creating a backup task.

- Seven interface languages became available. Now the program language set includes Chinese, Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
- We are happy to announce a powerful plug-in engine designed to automatically back up settings and preferences of popular programs. Basically, the engine uses well-formed XML documents that describe rules on locating and backing up data. We’ve already created plug-ins for such widely used programs as ACDSee, AOL Instant Messenger, Mozilla Suite, Adobe Photoshop CS2, Spybot - Search & Destroy, The Bat Pro, Total Commander, Winamp, WinRar, WinZip, Windows Media Player 10, and Yahoo Messenger.
- Backup of the applications listed above can be performed after installing the respective plug-in. Program backup plug-ins can be downloaded from the product web site free of charge! To ease this procedure even more, we’ve added an option to search, download and install plug-ins directly to the program interface, so you can do it without going to the website, with a single mouse click.
