Restoring encrypted files via FTP

Version 8.6.9 includes improvements aimed at making the recovery of encrypted data from FTP backups more accurate and reliable.

Working with IMAP servers

The method used to retrieve folder lists has been updated for certain IMAP server configurations, providing more stable and accurate interaction with those servers.

Checking S3 Cloud connection settings

The S3 Cloud plugin now features an improved test connection mechanism, allowing connection parameters to be verified more accurately during cloud backup setup.

Task group settings

Task group settings have been enhanced in version 8.6.9, including support for longer names to make task organization more convenient.

Czech language support

The Czech interface localization has been updated as part of Handy Backup’s ongoing effort to expand and improve language support for users in different countries.

Linux network agent updates

In Handy Backup Server Network, Linux network agents* have been updated for Debian 12 and 11, RED OS 8 and 7, and Ubuntu 22.04.

Cloud plugin support

At Step 2 of the backup task setup, cloud storage plugins are now available, including Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Amazon S3, and other services. These cloud storage options can now be used in backup tasks for Linux machines.

For all of the Linux distributions listed above, a PostgreSQL backup plugin is also available. In addition, MySQL and MariaDB plugins are supported for Ubuntu 22.04.

* Linux workstations are managed through a centralized control panel deployed on Windows.

New agent installation option

A second, more convenient installation method is now available for Linux network agents. Previously, agents were installed from a tar.gz archive, with the required packages installed in advance. This method is still available for users who prefer the existing deployment format.

Linux agents can now also be installed using ready made packages. In this case, no additional dependency installation is required, since all necessary dependencies are already included in the packages.
