How HIDEN Uses Handy Backup to Back Up and Synchronize Business Documents

HIDEN is a developer, manufacturer, and distributor of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) solutions.
Challenge
In their daily work, company employees use project documentation, engineering materials, drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, commercial proposals, contracts, reports, and folders related to ongoing projects.
The main requirements were to:
- ✔ ensure reliable backup of business documents
- ✔ keep files up to date across multiple folders
- ✔ automate tasks according to a schedule
- ✔ use NAS storage for data storage
Operational Considerations
During operation, the company identified an important aspect of folder synchronization. If a file is deleted, renamed, or moved without prior preparation, it may be automatically restored from the synchronized copy.
To prevent this, synchronization is temporarily paused before changes are made to the project folder structure. Once the changes are complete, synchronization is resumed. This approach helps keep shared working directories organized when several employees work with the same files.
Solution Implementation
Business data is stored on individual employee computers and a network-attached storage device. Backup and synchronization are performed using Handy Backup Standard.

This setup made it possible to configure regular backup of business files, synchronization of project folders, and backup storage on a NAS device.

Backup is configured separately and runs once a week on weekends, when the impact on daily operations is minimal.
Using NAS Storage
A NAS device on the local network is used to store backups and synchronize business data.
This is convenient when files need to be available on multiple computers and backups stored in a shared network location.
Result
With Handy Backup, the company gained a backup system for protecting and synchronizing business data. Documents are automatically backed up according to a schedule, the latest file versions are maintained across multiple working folders, and the NAS provides centralized data storage.
Handy Backup helped us reliably protect and synchronize our business data. I had previously tried other software, but I was not satisfied with how it worked. Handy Backup proved to be a better fit for my requirements. In the future, I plan to configure synchronization with the Yandex Disk cloud service.
